do you know about dyslexia? for your information, dyslexia can be said as learning problem that makes people hard to spell, read and write . it occurs because the brain mixes up the letter and words. basically, this problem can be detected at the young age. however, having this problem doesn't mean that your ability to learn is below average. it is not intellectual disability. in fact, many people with dyslexia is intelligent but not able to read well may cause other problems.

until now, there is no finding about the specific cause of this problem. however, this problem often runs in families. in other words, dyslexia can be said as genetic disorder. there are many symptoms of dyslexia among children. they may talks later than expected, being slow to learn new words, has difficulty in rhyming words, slow or inaccurate reading, problem linking letter with sound, confusing short word such as 'at' and 'to' and has difficulty in distinguishing between similar sounds in words, for example 'animal' and 'aminal'. besides, they also may reversing the shapes of written letters such as 'd' for 'b', therefore they also tend to write backward like 'pit' for 'tip'.

there is no specific treatment for this problem as it is lifelong problem. however, early treatment during childhood is needed to ensure that they can live like normal people. the basic treatment consist the educational tools to enhance their ability to read. parents may teach how letters are linked to sound to make words, listen and repeat instructions and ask them to read loudly in order to improve their confidence. the most important thing is the support from their family, children, teachers and the surrounding.

'KERANDA 152'

okey, back to the topic i mentioned above :)

Have you ever heard about 'Keranda 152'? haha. don't be so surprised! The 'Keranda 152' is symbolized the Article 152 of Federal Costitution actually. Last week, I accidentally read an article regarding this issue and i find it is interesting to share the contents with all of you.

Article 152 stated that Bahasa Melayu is the national language and it will be brought to the better level gradually in the ten years after the Independence Day. This article which guaranteed the privilege of Bahasa Melayu actually is a social contract between Malay, Chinese, Indian and other ethnics in Malaysia. However, the NGO which represents the Malay claimed that this contract had been violated during the conference of Dewan Rakyat on 1967. The conference which resulted to the Rang Undang- undang Bahasa 1967 provided that English would be remained in some field including the judiciary. They argued that there is no improvement in Bahasa Melayu for the past ten years; threfore it only suitable for art field and not good enough to be applied in Science matter.

As the feedback, there were almost 2000 nationalists including the Head of DBP , Tun Syed Nasir Ismail and Usman Awang who was the editor for Dewan Masyarakat, Dewan Budaya and Dewan Sastera gathered and gave their speech at Balai Budaya on 3rd March 1967. After the Friday prayer, they headed to the building of Parliament at Jalan Mahameru along with the coffin (keranda) written 'Perkara152'. Unfortunately, the Alliance Party which ruled the country on that point of time had rejected their proposal. Actually, this parade symbolized the death of Bahasa Melayu when the Government refused to use it as the main language especially in judiciary field.

Luckily, the 13th May incident changed everything. Bahasa Melayu has been recognized as national language 'officially'. Besides, this incident also indirectly leads to the establishment of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
(UKM) as an alternative to the 'Universiti Malaya' at Singapura which established by British.

love marriage vs arranged marriage

Hi!

I have a big question for all of you today. Which one would you prefer, love marriage or arranged marriage? During my foundation, one of my lectures asked the whole class about this matter and most of us chose the love marriage. Why? I don’t know because I chose both of them. Hahha. What about all of you? I’m sure that each of you has good reasons for your own choice. For those who still can’t make up your mind, maybe this post may help you a little bit. After few conversations with my friends, I have list out the advantages and disadvantages for both marriage. You can read all those things and then decide by yourself:

For love marriage, you absolutely know the whole things about you partner. His or her habits, hobby, favourite TV shows or even his favourite colours. You know how to cheer him when he has a sorrow day or how to handle his anger. You can share everything with your partner as you know that he or she loves you, therefore he will accept whoever you are. And the best part is you can live happily with the man or girl you dream of. However, situation might be different in years to come. You may get bored since you know everything about him or her. Just like my friend said, “there is no excitement to be explored more.”

So, how about the arranged marriage? Some of my friends thought that the arranged marriage is the ‘safe marriage’. For this marriage, it absolutely will come with the permission from your parents. However, it may take some times for you to get close with your partner since you know nothing about him or her. Don’t worry, it just another excitement for you to be explored. But, this marriage also has its own risk. You may like and maybe not the things that you will find out in the future. So, you have to be prepared to make adjustments with your married life.

I think that’s all for now. Haha. Please, don’t take this post so serious. It just few opinios from my friends; who does not married yet!

hi! if i'm not mistaken everyone here seems more into the current issues right? but right now i'm thinking to write about something else- not the current one but more to psychological issue. can i?

why people tend to lie? anybody knows the answer?

nowadays, whether we realized it or not, lying is quite common among people whether children, teenager or even adult! sometimes, it can be said that this practice is seems acceptable by society since no one is immune from deception or deliberately misleading others. the question right now; is it really can be accepted?

generally, lie can be done in three ways. firstly, falsifying information whereby we are swearing the truth when the contrary is true. secondly, withholding information. it means that we are presenting part of the truth, NOT the whole story. lastly, manipulating information which means misleading understanding by implying one truth to draw attention of others from the other truth. in my opinion, when lie is defined like this, seems no one is immune from this practice. am i right? (-,-)'
why do people lie actually? normally, for children- they tend to lie to avoid parental disapproval. nowadays, most of the parents are seem competing each other to show that their children are good in everything. they want their children to be the best student, involve in sports and whatsoever- you cannot do that, do this or otherwise, i'll be angry. at the end of the day, their children choose to lie because not all of them are interested with those activities and they know its the only way to satisfy their parents.
then, for teenagers- most of the times, they tend to lie to impress others whether friends, lectures, parents or maybe their partner. last week, i read an article regarding this issue. according to the article, some teenagers consider lying as a survival skill as to success in their study. hee..is it true?
so, how about the 'white lie'? even though it clearly impart incorrect informations, it do not harm. for example, a teen might compliment his or her friend's haircut or new outfit, when he or she does not like it at all.
now, back to the earlier question- is lying really can be accepted? for me, its simple. even though this practice is so commonplace, no one should assume it is acceptable behaviour . it do followed by negative consequences- as it always do. ^_^
